First Comes Love

A SLOW BURN SMALL TOWN LESBIAN ROMANCE OF LOVE, HEALING AND SECOND CHANCES.

A runaway spaniel was never supposed to change their lives.

In the picturesque Scottish village of Glenbrae, two women with completely different beliefs about love find themselves drawn together in ways neither can explain.

Brogan Mearns, the new headmistress of the prestigious local school, has no interest in relationships after escaping a toxic and manipulative ex in London. Independent, guarded, and fiercely protective of her freedom, she has spent years convincing herself she is better off alone.

Minister Libby Brown believes love should come before desire. Kind-hearted, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in the Glenbrae community, she has spent so long putting everyone else first that she has almost forgotten what it feels like to want something for herself.

Then a runaway dog brings them together.

What begins as reluctant friendship slowly turns into stolen glances, late-night conversations, and a slow burn attraction neither woman can ignore. But just as the walls between them begin to fall, tragedy and upheaval threaten everything they are building.

A kitchen fire leaves Brogan temporarily homeless. The sudden death of her uncle forces her back to London. And when the ex she escaped resurfaces determined to regain control, Brogan must confront the fears she has spent years running from.

Back in Glenbrae, Libby is left questioning whether love is worth risking her heart for. Because wanting Brogan is easy. Trusting that she will stay is much harder.
