Coronado’s Golden Mirage

Un Espejismo Dorado: La Expedición Perdida de Coronado is a historical novel that reimagines the legendary 16th-century expedition of Francisco Vázquez de Coronado in search of the mythical Seven Cities of Gold. Through rich, visually evocative prose, the novel brings to life the American Southwest as a land shaped by prophecy, Indigenous traditions, unchecked ambition, and transformative encounters.

The story unfolds through Diego, a young man caught between two worlds, alongside the voices of Indigenous peoples striving to protect their cultures against invading forces. As the journey progresses, the novel explores the tension between hope and devastation, faith and violence, desire and survival. Each chapter immerses the reader in vast landscapes, ancient ceremonies, and mounting dangers that challenge both explorers and those they encounter.

Epic, emotional, and deeply human, the novel reflects on one of history’s most enigmatic expeditions while posing a timeless question: Is the pursuit of a dream worth the cost when the price may be one’s own soul?
